JUNE 26 - CRESKELD SALE
Download Catalogue
Comprising the dispersal of the entire CRESKELD herd, the property of Messrs J & C.Stoddart-Scott. This is one of the oldest herds in the breed with a history of over 90 years and its cow families such as the Emily, Honeysuckle, Knierke and Piper have provided foundation stock for many top herds over the years. The herd now contains nearly 100 cows with a similar number of followers and the standards in every department are extremely good. They are of excellent type (inc 11 Ex and 44 VG), and very productive, averaging of 9,000kgs at 3.82% (3.06) on a commercial system (cubicle housing, 2x milking and a basic winter diet of grass and maize silage, with barrier fed concentrates. Many will be in full milk (17 cows giving 45kg or more daily (9 over 50kg) at latest recording) and plenty due in the autumn. Many of the very promising heifers are due in the late summer and the younger stock are a feature of the sale, being well grown and sired by highly popular proven bulls. Sires include Bambam, Bolivia Allen, Final Cut, Lheros, Mr Sam, Ross, Spirte, Stormatic and Talent, with younger stock by Fever, Lavanguard, Seaver, Sid, Stanleycup, Steady and Windbrook. With their depth of pedigree, allied to their sound commercial attributes, it is doubtful if a more genuine and appealing dairy herd will be sold anywhere this summer and with splendid cattle in all age groups the Creskeld dispersal should have wide appeal to breeders and dairy producers everywhere.
